SIS Delegation Visits UK

At the invitation of Oxford University, Warwick University, King's College London, and other research institutes, a three-member delegation from SIS, headed by Dean Professor Yang Guangbin, visited the United Kingdom from September 14 to 21, 2019. The delegation also included Associate Professor Li Chen and Zuo Xiying.

From September 15 to 17, the delegation participated in the Conference on China and Global History, which was organized as part of the UK-China Humanities Alliance at Warwick University and Oxford University. During the conference, Professor Yang Guangbin, Professor Li Chen, and Professor Zuo Xiying delivered speeches in their respective sessions on topics such as Mao's China and the Changing World Order, Chinese Military Strategy from 1953 to 1964, and The Third Front and China's Long-term Preparation for War in the Cold War.

Subsequently, the delegation visited the Department of European & International Studies at KCL, the International Affairs and Diplomacy Strategy at LSE (LSE IDEAS), the Lau China Institute at KCL, the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS), the Royal United Services Institute for Defence Studies (RUSI), and Chatham House. During these visits, the delegation engaged in discussions with faculty members on major international issues of common interest and explored possibilities for future cooperation.
