Application Procedure

1.1. Students from mainland China, as well as those holding the identity cards from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, must first be admitted to the RUC. Following nomination by RUC, you will proceed with the application process through King’s.

2.For non-Chinese students, please see your application procedures below:

(1)Online Application

Apply to RUC via the online application portal of the International Students Office. Should you plan to apply for the Chinese Government scholarship, we strongly encourage you to start your application early and to check the deadline with the relevant authority in your home country (usually the Chinese embassy/consulate).

(2)Application Document Review

RUC will review the applicants’ information and materials in the application system. Applicants who do not pass the online preliminary review should re-upload the related information or documents in time within qualification review period.

(3)Admission Interview

Following the review of your application documents, you will be invited to an admission interview. Admissions interviews are conducted by members of the admissions committee to evaluate your motivation, preparation and relevant background. Interviews may be held in person for candidates already in Beijing, or via online video conference.

(4)Pre-admission Letter

Upon successfully passing the interview, a pre-admission letter will be digitally sent to you within two weeks. This letter may serve as supporting documentation for your scholarship application.

(5)Admission Package

Official admission letters will be mailed to your postal address after June 15th. In the admission package you will find the admission letter for visa application and on-campus accommodation reservation form. You may also refer to this outline for the details of the program application and scholarship application at RUC.

(6)Application at King’s

After you have completed the application at RUC, we will guide you through the subsequent application process at King’s.

Students will have the opportunity to continue their second year at King's College London MA in European Studies programme, conditional on meeting the following requirements.

Academic requirements

In order to meet the academic entry requirements for this programme, you should have a minimum 2:1 undergraduate degree or international equivalent. If you are still studying, you should be achieving an average of at least 60% or above in the UK marking scheme. English language requirements

English language band: B

Nationals of majority English speaking countries (as defined by the UKVI) who have permanently resided in this country are not usually required to complete an additional English language test. This is also the case for applicants who have successfully completed an undergraduate degree (of at least three years duration), a postgraduate taught degree (of at least one year), or a PhD in a majority English speaking country (as defined by the UKVI) within five years of the course start date.
